Our Community Credit Union
Press Release
Our Community Credit Union announces new branch
December 8, 2009:
Our Community Credit Union is expanding member service by opening their 6th branch in the Union Square Complex on Dalby Rd in Union, Wash., scheduled to open in early spring of 2010.
The branch will offer Union residents a full range of quality financial services including mortgage and investment products.
The Board of Directors approved this expansion based on members and potential members need in that area to have more readily accessible OCCU products and services, according to Joe Robertson, President and CEO of OCCU.
"Expanding our service delivery and access is a key objective of our business plan”, said Robertson, "This community currently has no other financial institution present and shows a potential for growth in the coming years, and we believe it offers an opportunity for us to expand our current 25% market share by providing individuals with quality financial products and services near where they live."
Our Community Credit Union currently has over 22,000 members and $208 million in assets. It operates branches in Shelton, McCleary, Elma and Montesano. Membership is open to anyone who lives, works, or attends school in Mason or Grays Harbor County.

Union, Wash.
"There is something breathtaking about the way the Hood Canal winds its way through hills filled with thousands of evergreens," says Anderson of this enclave on the Kitsap Peninsula, in Washington's Puget Sound. "The town is inviting, the homes situated along the water's edge are modest, and the buildings are characteristic of the Pacific Northwest." http://www.forbestraveler.com/best-lists/americas-prettiest-towns-2009-slide-4.html?thisSpeed=25000

Northwest Golf Courses Go Green
Golf is getting greener. Across the United States, but especially in the Pacific Northwest and particularly in the Portland area, golf courses are adopting environmentally sustainable practices. They are using far less water, fertilizer and weed-killer than before and employing grass varieties that can thrive without meticulous care.
It's become par for the course for golf superintendents to leave dead trees for habitat, encourage native pollinators and maintain wildlife corridors. The courses themselves, often veined with creeks and wetlands, have taken on new roles as community protectors by receiving, storing and controlling storm water. Water hazards -- where wayward shots go to drown -- double as homes for ducks, geese, turtles and frogs.
Salmon-Safe is developing its own checklist of measurable standards for golf courses. Meeting them would allow a course to boast that it's been certified as a place where the course management practices don't harm fish.
